FARAWAY FRIENDS



I sit here alone
Feeling lost and forlorn
No one to turn to
My heart is all torn

I turn to the Internet
The answers to find
And there I find Mothers
Have they read my mind?

They've sensed how I'm feeling
Without being told
And welcome me in
Out of the cold

They know all my feelings
For they too have felt
The way I am feeling
The same hand been dealt

They bolster my courage
And give me support
As they tell me about
The battles they've fought

They wear scars of battle
But not of defeat
They tell me keep going
To stay on my feet

They write words of hope
Their pain's been the same
And they promise a time
I'll be smiling again

We share lots of tears
And also some laughs
I have company to guide me
That's trodden my paths

I'm no longer alone
I now have some hope
New friends to talk to
To help me to cope

Over 1000's of miles
Their words soothe my mind
Others to share with
Who are loving and kind

Their friendship I treasure
It is their willing gift
And my spirits are given
A wonderful lift

I thank the kind spirit
That sent them my way
With their understanding
To brighten my day
And I hopefully pray
We'll all meet some day
